DETAILED PEDIGREE ANALYSIS AS WRITTEN BY MAREN ENGELHARDT.
Mare family of TIC Polarfahrt
Also from this line: Polarfurst, Polifax, Polarmond, Polarkreis, Primo, Polarschnee, Polar, PlarJager, Polarwind, Polargeist, Polarion, Polarpunkt
The sire Enrico Caruso is know for his offspring around the world. Mostly dressage horses of excellent quality, he stamps his offspring with great type, supple movement, good jumping abilities and outstanding temperaments, which is the main reason this stallion is highly popular in the US and abroad. Among his many approved sons, the German stationed Kostolany and the English stationed Trocadero stand out the most. In the US, several sons have been approved over the years, and some of his best certainly in the last years, e.g. Kovington and Tanzeln. PAVAROTTI is no exception to the rule that Enrico Caruso offspring have outstanding minds. He is very willing, calm and learning quickly. The above mentioned jumping ability in Enrico Caruso's offspring doesn't come as a surprise, as a closer look at his pedigree reveals. Enrico Caruso's dam sire Amagum was a good jumper producer and among his grandsons, the elite stallion Leonardo (by Virgil) stands out the most. He had one of the Trakehner verbands highest show jumper index scores ever, and earned his elite title mostly due to success of his competing offspring. Although deceased for a while, his latest approved son is the young, international Grand Prix show jumper Kairos TSF (dam by Amiego). This very valuable blood is also available in North America through the not yet ATA approved EH Leonardo son Herzberg (dam by Persaldo). In addition, Flaneur (who is Majagoni's dam sire) has always produced excellent show jumpers. Only because his dressage line was more popular did we forget from time to time that this blood could be very helpful when breeding jumpers. The gelding Brenner by Flaneur was for a long time Germany's most successful Trakehner show jumper.
PAVAROTTI'S dam sire Donaufurst is a stallion of true Olympic bloodlines. His dam Donaufahrt vom Schimmelhof was a full sister to Donauwind, sire of the great Abdullah. Donaufurst's sire Majagoni in turn sired the 1996 Olympic bronze medalist (US team dressage, M. Gibson) Peron TSF as well as the international Grand Prix horses Chronos (for the Netherlands) and Mahon (for France). But Donaufurst is not limited to his exceptional pedigree. The stallion was a successful hunter in Canada before he moved to Erin Brinkmann in Florida, where he started a late dressage career and within a very short time, managed to place well and win up to Grand Prix. He has sired several ATA approved stallions, noted sport horses (dressage and hunters mostly) and excellent broodmares. On top of that, Donaufurst is also approved with the German Trakehner Verband and has a few high scoring daughters in the main stud book in Germany.
The mare family of TIC Polarfahrt traces back to the main stud mare of the same name. Polarfahrt was considered THE top mare in Germany, all breeds, at her time. A beautiful black, elegant daughter of Bussard, she originated from Trakehnen's famous black herd (also the foundation herd for stallions like Grand Prix, Habicht or Solero). The mare family spread quickly all over Europe and one of the first Trakehners after the war in international eventing was Polarsturm, from that family. Famous stallions like Polarwind (by Persaldo), whose dam Parole was by the purebred Arabian Doktryner ox, or the imported Polargeist (by Damon ox) came from this family. As it turns out, this line has always crossed especially well with Arabian stallions. Polargeist was the first approved Trakehner after WWII who was sired by a purebred Arabian stallion. He in turn produced the NMS champion Holunder and several exceptional daughters.
